Accessing AWS Appstream
1. Sign into Blackbaord, and navigate to your course that is AWS Appstream accessible. A Student or an Instructor can identify if their course is AWS Appstream accessible if an AWS Appstream item is in your course menu list as noted in Fig.1. Select your course’s AWS Appstream from the course menu of the left of the webpage. 2.Select the BOLD and underlined hyperlink, as noted in Fig.2, located in the middle of your webpage to launch a new tab in your web browser 3. When the web browser tab loads, choose from a list of applications available to your course, as noted in Fig.3. 4. By selecting an application, you have reserved your session. Please wait for your session to load, which will be noted by a countdown, as noted in Fig.4.

Setup AWS Appstream OneDrive Access
1. Select the AWS Appstream Link in your Blackboard Course and select either a Single Application or Desktop to launch your AWS session, as noted in Fig. A 2. Once the session has launched, note the icons near the top left-hand side of the Web Browser, as noted in Fig. B 3. Select the folder icon, as noted in Fig.1, which is located within the grouping of icons noted in the previous step. 4. When the “My Files” panel appears, select “Add Storage”, as noted in Fig.2. 5. Select “@forsythtech.edu” from the drop-down menu, as noted in Fig.3, and Sign in with your TechID and Password, as noted in Fig.4. 6. Now when you select the folder icon, an “OneDrive” folder will appear, as noted in Fig.5. OneDrive access will allow you to access files from within AWS Appstream or from Techlink.

AWS Appstream Starter Information
1. Each session is limited to 5 hours, if a disconnect occurs you can attempt to connect to your session within 8 minutes before the session ends, and if the computer is idle for 5 minutes your session will end. 2. To launch a new application, select the window icon and choose a new application from the list, as noted in Fig.1. 3. To end the session, select the person icon on the left side of the webpage and choose “End Session” from the drop-down, as noted in Fig.2. 4. To access files in AWS Appstream, select the folder icon as noted in Fig.3. When the “My Files” panel appears, a person can access files in two locations as seen in Fig.4. The “Home Folder” location stores files that are persistent within each person’s AWS Appstream. The “OneDrive” location stores files that are saved in OneDrive and can be accessed from either AWS Appstream or Techlink.

AWS Appstream Troubleshooting - Adobe CC - Device Activation Limit
Cause Adobe CC only allows users you activate two devices simultaneously. Each AWS Appstream session started by a person will create a different computer, which will have different computer hardware information. Solution 1. Select "Sign out" under either computer name, as noted in Fig.1. The preferred choice is a computer name that starts EC2AMAZ-, which would be your last AWS Appstream session. 2. When you are signed out of the other device, click Continue, as seen in Fig.2

AWS Appstream Troubleshooting - No streaming resources
Cause The "No streaming resources are available." message can appear due to three reason You recently ended your AWS Appstream session and are attempting to start it again. All resources are in use and AWS is currently creating additional resources for use. AWS Appstream policies are preventing the creation of additional resources for use. Solution Close any open AWS Appstream webpage tabs. Waiting 10 minutes for the additional resources to be created. Re-launch AWS Appstream from your blackboard accessible course. Escalation If you are still receiving the "No streaming resources are available" message after waiting 10 minutes, please contact ITS Support

AWS Appstream Troubleshooting - AutoCAD 2019 FATAL ERROR
CAUSE When launching AutoDesk AutoCAD 2019 a fatal error message appears, as seen in Fig.1. The error is due to the default information written in a system file when your AWS Appstream session is created. SOLUTION The solution listed below will prevent the fatal error from re-occurring due to the persistent software settings in AWS Appstream. Close the AutoCAD Error Aborting message to begin. 1. Launch File Explorer by selecting the folder icon on the bottom left of the AWS appstream window, as noted in Fig.2. 2. Click and type C:\IS-tech in the address, right-click the file name AutoCAD2019_PhotonUser so the sub-menu appears, and left-click Merge from the sub-menu to add the information to the registry, as seen in the video below. 3. Select Yes to merge the file, as noted in Fig.4. 4. Select OK to confirm the file has merged, as noted in Fig.5. 5. Click the start button and navigate down the application list to the AutoCAD 2019 – English folder and click the folder. Select Reset Settings to Default from the drop-down list, as seen below. 6. Select Reset custom settings to continue, as noted in Fig.6. 7. Select OK to proceed with the reset, as noted in Fig.7. 8. Wait for the reset to complete, as seen in Fig.8. Once complete you will be able to use AutoCAD 2019 in your AWS Appstream sessions. AWS Appstream Troubleshooting - AutoCAD 2020 FATAL ERROR
CAUSE When launching AutoDesk AutoCAD 2020 a fatal error message appears, as seen in Fig.1. AWS Appstream Troubleshooting - Screen Resolution Message
Cause Depending on the physical screen size of the device being used or if your web browser window is shaped irregularly due to screen real estate issues, the message, as seen in Fig.1, is displayed on your AWS Appstream desktop. As described in the message it may prevent certain areas of an application from displaying within the AWS Appstream desktop Solution 1. Select OK to close the screen resolution message, as noted in Fig.1. 2. Select Enter fullscreen mode X icon to enter full screen, as noted in Fig.2.

AWS Appstream Troubleshooting - Unreal Engine (UE4) - Low Drive Space Warning
Cause The message "Low drive space warning" appears because the default project path is D:/PhotonUser/AppData/Local/UnrealEngine/4.25/ Solution 1. When creating a new project, note "Select a location for your project to be stored" at the bottom of the "New Project" window. 2. Select to change the project file location. 3. Navigate to the Photon users home folder, which is D:\PhotonUser\My Files\ 4. Select "Home Folder" from the listed folders and left-click the the "Select Folder" ** Note: Message will continue to appear because of the default project path but it will avoid yourself or the student running out of space. **

Adding an AWS Appstream Link to a Blackboard Course
1. Add a Web Link in your Blackboard course for students to access the AppStream environment 2. Use the URL provided by ITS. The URL should be provided at the start of the semester by either the Instructional Appstream Administrator, which is currently the Media Technology and Instructional Systems Coordinator, by Infrastructure Service Coordinator *This link will provide the student access to the AppStream environment. We recommend adding a menu item "AWS AppStream" to match the Knowledge Base guide below. 3.
